Implications Counselling is for those wanting to explore donor conception and have an open discussion about your journey. The goal is to offer a non-judgemental space where you can improve your awareness, understanding and knowledge whilst reducing any concerns. This is often a mandatory requirement by the clinic before treatment begins.
During the session, we will encourage you to explore your feelings about involuntary childlessness and your journey so far, as well as the legal implications of using a donor.
Julie Wray , Counsellor
Donor conception refers to the use of donated sperm, eggs, or embryos to conceive a child. While it’s a life-changing journey and positive experience, it can feel very different to what you might have imagined.
In the UK, the rights of the donor, intended parents, and the child can be complicated depending on the type of donation used. Implications counselling can help you understand the legal, social, and ethical aspects of donor conception.
The donor conception process can also take time, considering the research involved before looking for a clinic, deciding whether it’s the best route for you, and then donor selection.
Implications counselling can ensure you understand each step of the process, and are fully prepared.
